The client faced four distinct challenges:

  1. No procurement or commercial resource within their organsiation.
  2. Limited experience and capability within the Finance and Technology teams to enable rapid deployment of Coupa, using the NetSuite integration bundle.
  3. Business change challenges as a result of new entities being recently introduced into the organisation through acquisition.
  4. Historically no capability or experience in utilising digital P2P tools, instead TES was principally a manual and traditional accounts payable environment.

To achieve our client’s objectives, we provided senior procurement to shape TES’ approach to structuring its supplier expenditure within the organisation.

In parallel, our senior procurement and technical practitioners led the Coupa deployment whilst providing support to the NetSuite team in the deployment of various integration layers.

The Barkers methodology, which incorporates key enablers such as supplier enablement and change management, alongside robust project management skills, was structured to ensure that all areas of the project were progressed and implemented in a controlled and measured way.

  • Deployment of Platform Solution Architects, all with a background supporting low-maturity procurement and A/P automation environments
  • Deployment of Coupa and Barkers technical architects to support the deployment of the Coupa NetSuite integration bundle within their ERP
  • Overarching change management and project management service wrap.
  • AP Automation: A step change transformation, fully digitising the client’s legacy manual invoice approval process.
  • Visibility and Control: The consolidation of all charts of accounts, budgets, ledgers from all entities and countries under a single platform.
  • Integration: A seamless integration with key systems and buying channels within TES, including their NetSuite ERP and credit card issuing banks.
  • Procurement Kickstart: The client now possesses the ability to kickstart its journey towards greater procurement maturity, bringing visibility and compliance to its expenditure, where once there was none.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Robust monitoring to ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations. It also offered tools for risk assessment and mitigation, enhancing overall governance.
